We rebuilt downtown Manhattan and everybody in the world watched and everybody in the world loved New York and loved New Yorkers...And I have to tell you, that was a very insulting statement that Ted made." --Donald Trump

Prosecuting The Plant

Free Nick Diaz shirts were briefly for sale following the commission's decision using what many saw as his own colorful lingo.

Despite a standing rule from the Nevada Athletic Commission that 3 time offenders of Performance Enhancing Drug violations are to receive 2 year suspensions from competing: UFC fighter Niaz Diaz was handed a 5 year suspension following his 3rd positive test for marijuana metabolites during competition.

Is there a bias here?

For a talented and entertaining martial artist competing his entire adult life in three different weight classes this is a bad sentence and possibly a career ender.

Granted...it is his third violation, yet is this plant even close to opiates, steroids, muscle relaxers, stimulants and other substances listed on the NAC's banned substances list?

Diaz is already appealing the decision so we have yet to see how this concludes but it is, no doubt, a harsh verdict. Looking at the legalization of medicinal marijuana these sorts of issues will continue to plague the plant's progresses as it stays in the fuzzy, blurry line of state legality and federal illegality.

And should athletes be on it? Though there are no conclusive experiments on it improving performance, boosting testosterone (it actually increases estrogen...sorry stoners) or providing the significant pain relief that could eek-out an advantage in high impact/damage sports. Still many subject matter experts, scientists and athletic commissions theorize its attributes may enhance training, provide mood boosts and an overall unfair competitive edge.

Something to think about...in the meantime, here's some highlights homie.
